Product Detail

Graphite PTFE Packing with Silicone Rubber Core – High-Temperature Braided Gland Packing for Pumps, Valves and Agitators | Model KXT P205

Graphite PTFE Packing with Silicone Rubber Core (Style KXT P205) is a braided gland packing in which an inner silicone rubber core is wrapped by a graphite-filled PTFE yarn. The silicone rubber core gives the packing two things a plain PTFE braid cannot deliver: higher chemical resistance and a wider working temperature range, all the way from -200°C to +290°C.

The outer graphite PTFE yarn carries the sealing load and the abrasion resistance; the inner silicone rubber core adds resilience so the packing keeps its sealing force even when the shaft runs slightly off-centre or the gland temperature cycles.

Why the Silicone Rubber Core Matters

The Graphite PTFE Packing with Silicone Rubber Core is built as a two-part structure — an outer graphite PTFE braid wrapped around an inner silicone rubber core. Each part brings a different performance property, and together they cover duties that a single-material packing cannot.

OUTER BRAID
Graphite PTFE Yarn
  • Carries the sealing load at the shaft contact
  • Graphite increases thermal conductivity — heat escapes faster
  • Low coefficient of friction minimises shaft wear
  • Wide chemical resistance including oils, solvents and steam
INNER CORE
Silicone Rubber Core
  • Adds resilience that keeps sealing force under cycling
  • Higher chemical resistance at the core line
  • Extends the working temperature range beyond plain PTFE
  • Available in hollow, solid or other rubber configuration

Key Advantages of KXT P205

Higher Chemical Resistance

The silicone rubber core gives the Graphite PTFE Packing with Silicone Rubber Core better resistance to aggressive media than a standard PTFE braid.

Wider Temperature Range

The Graphite PTFE Packing with Silicone Rubber Core operates from -200°C to +290°C, covering cryogenic to high-temperature duties in one packing.

Higher Thermal Conductivity

Graphite in the outer braid conducts frictional heat away from the shaft faster, which keeps the gland cooler and extends packing life.

Low Friction

The Graphite PTFE Packing with Silicone Rubber Core has a low coefficient of friction — less shaft wear, less heat, lower power consumption.

Longer Service Life

The combination of the graphite braid and the resilient silicone rubber core reduces the frequency of gland re-packing, lowering total maintenance cost.

Wide Application Range

The Graphite PTFE Packing with Silicone Rubber Core is suitable for almost all chemical applications — pumps, valves, agitators, mixers and more.
