What is braided packing?

Packing is also called sealing packing, which is generally woven from a relatively soft wire, and its cross-sectional area is a square or rectangular or circular strip filled in the sealing cavity.

Packing is widely used in centrifugal pumps, vacuum pumps, compressors, mixers and marine propeller piston pumps, shaft seals, reciprocating compressors, reciprocating shaft seals for refrigerators, and rotary seals for various valve stems, etc.

Braided packing is often used in most occasions except for strong oxidants, and can be used in boiling water, high temperature, high pressure steam, heat exchange medium, oil, acid, alkali, hydrogen, ammonia, organic solvent, hydrocarbon, low temperature liquid and other media.

Therefore, it is widely used in centrifugal and reciprocating pumps, valves, pipelines and other seals in petroleum, chemical, electric power, metallurgy, machinery, papermaking and other industries.

There are many types of packing, the common ones are: aramid packingPTFE packinggraphite packingcarbon fiber packing and so on.

Packing can be used alone or in combination. Different types of packing are used in different places. For example, the aramid fiber packing is mainly used in the condition of many medium particles and easy to wear; the tetrafluoro packing is mainly used in the environment where pollution is not allowed. Under the conditions of easy wear and tear. Graphite packing is mainly used in high temperature and high pressure conditions; carbon fiber packing is mainly used in high temperature and high pressure wear-resistant conditions. In addition, steel wire (nickel wire, stainless steel wire) can also be added to the packing according to the working conditions to meet the needs of customers.
