(1) Determine the standard used by the gasket
Generally speaking, the standard used in the gasket is the same as the flange. The standards commonly used include: China National Standard (GB), Machinery Industry Standard (JB / T), Chemical Industry Standard (HG), International Standard (ISO), etc.
(2) Determine the nominal path and nominal pressure of the gasket
The nominal path of the gasket and the nominal pressure are the same as the flange. Such as: DN100-PN2.5.
(3) Determine the category of the gasket
The gasket category employed is determined based on the highest temperature of the nominal pressure and the medium. It is mainly divided into flexible graphite, polytetrafluoroethylene, rubber, non-stone fiber gasket and wound gasket, wave-shaped gasket, elliptical pad and octagon pad. Since the asbestos gasket is gradually eliminated by environmental protection and health, this article is not recommended.
(4) Determine the form of the gasket
The gasket is mainly divided into a non-metal mount, winding gasket, metal composite gasket, and metal pads. The specific gasket form should be selected according to the form of the flange and refer to the technical parameters provided by the manufacturers.
(5) Determine the material and model of the gasket

The material of the gasket should be determined according to the temperature, pressure, corrosion performance of the medium, and then determine the model of the gasket according to the above content. The model of the gasket generally includes six parts: gasket form, material, nominal path, nominal pressure, standard number, producer or grade.
